ABBA Hen Party Dance Class NewcastleWhere the key change does the work.
No other theme empties the chairs this fast. Put a room of hens aged nineteen to seventy-four in front of a seventies disco intro and the negotiation is over before the first verse — which is why, when a party spans the bride’s mates and the bride’s aunties, this is the safest bet on the whole list. Your teacher choreographs their own routine around the room in front of them, in one of three rooms we hire near the middle of town or wherever your party has set up camp across the North East. £170 covers the ninety minutes for everyone and £145 the hour, with the venue’s hire charge the only extra. No dance experience needed anywhere in the room.
One message and the guessing stops.
Give me the date, a ballpark headcount and any thought on timing. Back inside the day comes the availability answer, the room out of the three that suits your numbers, and both costs set out plainly — teaching fee here, room hire there, nothing folded together to look smaller than it is. If the group is still split between three themes, send the date anyway; you can settle the argument later without it costing anything.
nobody ever secured a Saturday in June by thinking about it very hard ✦
Four generations, one chorus.
Most themes ask a hen party to agree on something. An ABBA hen party dance class does not, because there is no demographic in Britain that has managed to avoid these songs — they are at every wedding, every works do, every kitchen at half eleven. That gives a room something rare: total common ground before a single step is taught. The choreography then leans into the one structural gift ABBA hands a group, which is the mass gesture. Twenty people throwing the same arm up on the same beat looks extraordinary and requires precisely no technique, so the aunties are not left behind and the one who did jazz until she was fourteen still has something to sink her teeth into. It is a dance hen party that flatters everybody in the photographs and asks nothing of anybody beforehand. As hen do dance class choices go it is also the least risky: no film to have seen, no lyrics to revise, no in-joke to explain to the future mother-in-law. Among the hen party ideas people bring us with a mixed-age guest list, nothing else comes close for hit rate.
In the door
Coats off, a quick word about who is who, and the first intro playing before the group has stopped arranging itself.
Loosen up
A short warm-up that is really the routine in disguise, so the arms already know the shape by the time it matters.
Build the number
Sections stacked eight counts at a time, the bride given her moment in the middle, and everyone else pointed at her on cue.
The key change
Full run with the volume up, filmed twice because the first take always dissolves at the same point.
what you leave with was invented for your room and no other
The version with room for a big finish and time to film it while everyone is still upright.
For a weekend already stacked with a spa, a meal and a taxi at seven. Tighter, not lesser.
Big rentals out at Hexham, seafront flats at Whitley Bay, a front room in Gateshead. Teaching fee alone.
the total does not creep as the guest list grows — hen party activities billed per body can gan elsewhere ✦
Three rooms we hire, none of them ours.
We are honest about this: the studio does not own a building. We book proper rooms with the floor space a twenty-strong party needs, and you are told which room and what it costs before anything is agreed — never a vague promise of somewhere central to be confirmed later. Two are a short walk from the Tyne Bridge; all three are close to wherever the night is going.
Sent in afterwards.
Twenty-two of us, ages nineteen to seventy-four, and not one person sat down. I genuinely did not think that was possible.Maid of honour · party of 22 · Newcastle
The key change hits, everyone throws their arms up at once, and my nana is somewhere in the middle of it grinning. That clip is going in the wedding slideshow.Bride · party of 16 · Jesmond
I asked three companies for a price and this was the only one that gave me two clear numbers instead of a per-person sum I had to work out myself.Bridesmaid · party of 14 · Cramlington

seven questions, seven straight answers ↓
Which ABBA songs are most likely to feature?+
The obvious contenders are all loaded and ready — the disco ones, the stomping ones, the one everybody sings at weddings — but which of them the routine is built on gets settled by your room rather than by us in advance. The teacher plays a few intros, watches which one makes people shriek, and works from there. Requests are taken seriously on the day.
Do we all need matching jumpsuits and platforms?+
No, and nothing of the sort comes from us — whatever your party wears is bought, borrowed or dug out by your party. Groups who go full glitter look magnificent on camera; groups in leggings learn exactly the same routine. If you are choosing footwear, pick the flat option, because platforms and a wooden floor are a poor combination.
What will an ABBA hen party cost us altogether?+
There are two numbers and you see both before committing. The teaching is £170 for ninety minutes or £145 for sixty, flat, for however many hens turn up; the venue’s hire cost sits alongside it, quoted for the specific room you pick. Choose your own hen house and the second number disappears.
Is there an upper limit on group numbers?+
The room sets the ceiling rather than the fee. Parties in the mid-twenties are common and work well because ABBA choreography loves a big block of people moving together; beyond that we would talk about which room gives you the floor space. The price stays where it is either way.
Might we pull this out again at the wedding?+
Plenty of parties end up doing exactly that, usually as an ambush on the groom’s side. Say so in the enquiry and the teacher will keep the shapes clean enough to survive a dance floor and a few months of forgetting, and will leave time to film a version worth rehearsing from.
How far ahead should a Newcastle date be booked?+
Summer Saturdays in the city go early, so three or four months is comfortable and six is safer if your date is fixed. That said, short notice is always worth asking about — cancellations happen, and a Thursday or Sunday here is far easier to place than a Saturday in July.
Does anyone need to have danced before?+
No dance experience is expected from anybody in the room, and most parties contain nobody who has danced since school. Steps get taught in small pieces, repeated more than you think you need, and simplified the moment somebody looks lost. Enthusiasm is the only prerequisite.
