Street Dance Hen Party Dance Class NewcastleTrainers on, nothing to dress up as.
This is the one with no costume attached. A street dance hen party dance class strips the theme out altogether and leaves the actual dancing — eight counts, a bit of attitude, a beat loud enough to bury the giggling — which is precisely why groups who insist they have two left feet tend to love it most. Your teacher writes the routine in real time around whoever is stood in front of them, in one of three rooms Newcastle Dance Studio hires around the city or at your own hen house across the North East. £170 for ninety minutes or £145 for sixty, plus only the venue’s hire cost. No experience needed and no kit beyond trainers you can turn in.
Howay then, when is it?
Send the date, roughly how many of you there are and a rough start time. You get an answer inside the day: whether we are free, which of the three rooms suits your numbers, and the two figures written down — teaching fee and room hire, listed separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for and why.
no obligation attached to any of this — the form only starts the conversation ✦
Nowt to hide behind.
Every other theme on the list hands you a character to play. Street dance hands you nothing except the count, and the odd result is that groups relax faster rather than slower. There is no accent to attempt and no decade to get wrong — only a beat and a dozen people discovering that a shoulder roll is easier than it looks from the sofa. It makes a genuinely good hen do dance class for parties that skew young, and a surprisingly good one for parties that do not.
It also photographs better than almost anything else we teach. A dance hen party in trainers and whatever the group already owns looks like a music video rather than a fancy-dress night, which is why footage from these survives on phones long after the weekend has been forgotten. As hen party ideas go it is the least fussy on the list — nothing to source, nothing to coordinate, nothing to carry home on the train — and among hen party activities in the city it is one of very few where the group leaves having genuinely learned something.
A warm-up you enjoy
Bounce, roll, groove — five minutes that quietly double as the technique lesson nobody notices having.
The basics land fast
Three or four moves taught properly, drilled until the room stops staring down at its own feet.
Built in front of you
Your teacher stacks those moves into a routine as the session runs, adjusting live for the confident and the terrified alike.
Filmed at full volume
One last run at performance level with a phone propped on a chair, because nobody believes it otherwise.
the routine is built for your room and dies with it — nothing here is recycled
Time to teach it properly, layer it up and still film the thing — where most street parties land.
A tight, fast telling for groups with a table booked at seven. Fewer moves, identical volume.
Living rooms in Jesmond, holiday lets out at Whitley Bay, a cleared garage in Cramlington — teaching fee only.
one flat figure for everybody stood in the room, whatever that number turns out to be
Floors that take trainers.
Newcastle Dance Studio hires all three of these by the hour, which is why you get a proper sprung floor and a wall of mirror instead of a function room with sticky carpet. Whichever suits your numbers is named on the quote alongside its hire cost, before you agree to a thing.

what organisers ask before they book ↓
Do we need any dance experience for this?+
None whatsoever, and most groups arrive with none. The teacher assumes a room of complete beginners and pitches accordingly, then quietly gives the two people who did dance at school something harder, so everyone finishes the same routine at their own level.
What should the group wear for street dance?+
Trainers with a bit of grip and clothes you can lift your arms in. That is the whole list. There is nothing to hire, nothing handed out and nothing to buy — anything themed is your own idea and comes out of your own wardrobe.
So what does the afternoon actually cost?+
£170 covers the ninety-minute session for everyone and £145 covers the hour, plus the venue’s hire cost, stated in writing before you book. At a hen house there is no venue cost at all, and nothing is charged by the head at any point.
Is the music going to be too rude?+
Your call entirely. Say the word and it stays clean for the mams and anyone under eighteen; say nothing and you get radio edits of whatever is filling floors this year. Nobody should have to explain a lyric to their auntie.
Can you do this at our holiday let instead?+
Regularly. All it needs is a bit of floor with the coffee table pushed back, and Newcastle Dance Studio brings the speaker along. Anywhere across Tyneside and out to Morpeth or Hexham is normal, and the room charge simply does not exist.
What is the biggest group you will teach?+
Comfortably up to around twenty-five in the larger rooms, and as few as six. The fee does not move either way, so a group of eight is not penalised and a group of twenty is not charged twice over.
What if it rains and the plans change?+
Then nothing changes — this is indoors by definition, which is why it gets booked as the weather-proof slot in a weekend otherwise built on a river cruise and a beer garden. Give as much notice as you can for date moves and we will do what we can.
